Bulk Upload Members to Club

This guide will help you add members to your club in bulk. This can be useful if you are just getting started on Chess Nut or if you are registering players for a tournament through some other means and need to transcribe them to Chess Nut for pairing.

Start by navigating to the Club->Members tab.

On this page, find the additional options dropdown to the right of the blue '+ New Member' button.

Download the template or modify an existing Excel sheet to conform to the upload format.

Here is an example of the format:

This uploader is flexible. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Column order is not important
  • The top row must be headers - the headers let Chess Nut know what data is below
  • The headers are not case sensitive
  • The only required fields are First Name and Last Name - It is good practice to include an email address as well
  • Email and USCF ID are required to be unique - If there is a duplicate the row with the duplicate will fail
  • Files can partially upload - If there are any validation errors, the system will properly process the correct data and alert you regarding the errors.
  • Extraneous columns not matching an expected header will be disregarded

After an upload, you will see the status of the operation which will look a bit like this:

If you are using this to upload players to an existing club, it is especially good practice to include an email address (and USCF ID if applicable). This will ensure that you don't add the same player to your club multiple times.
