When creating an event in Chess Nut, there is an advanced setting called 'Rating Source' which allows you to select where the tournament ratings should come from. If you select USCF Supplements, a natural question may be: which vintage or supplement will be used?
This article addresses how Chess Nut determines which vintage rating is utilized and how you can overcome it if necessary.
When searching for the rating vintage to utilize, Chess Nut anchors to your event start date. If the start date of an event is in October 2024 it will use October USCF ratings regardless of whether the end date bleeds into November. If no start date was provided it will use the end date. If there is no start date or end date then the most current supplement would be utilized.
There are a few options available if you wanted to use a different supplement for pairing. The most straightforward is that you can change the start date before running auto pair. Alternatively, you can override individual ratings within the section or you can utilize Custom Ratings as a rating source instead of the supplements.
